Leaving behind the typical ass-kicking thriller crime genre with predictable plots, Netflix has come up with an urban fantasy crime film – Bright. Debuting the final trailer on Dec 12, the upcoming film stars Will Smith alongside Joel Edgerton in what the web streaming giant describes as a contemporary cop thriller but with fantastical elements.
Set in an alternate present where humans co-exist with fantasy creatures like orcs, fairies, elves, centaurs and more, Will Smith stars as a human cop who partners with the first and only orc cop in the team played by Joel Edgerton.
The two LAPD Police officers embark on a supposedly ordinary routine patrol night, which then turn into a mission to save the fantastical world after discovering an ancient but powerful magic wand. Setting their differences aside, the duo join forces to defeat Leilah, a dark elf seeking control of the wand.
David Ayer helms as the director and producer of the action-thriller and the anticipation doubles considering his global success in superhero film Suicide Squad. Besides the forthcoming thriller, the award-winning director has even worked with Atlantic Records to produce a sensational soundtrack for the movie itself.
Bright: The Album features 13 soundtracks which includes a hot new single by Billboard‘s Breakthrough Artist Camila Cabello and musical duo, Grey called “Crown”. Launched on Dec 15, the movie soundtrack is now available for pre-order online.
Bright will be debuting on Netflix and in select theatres from Dec 22. For more updates on the movie, access Netflix.
