Eversince the launch of Fenty Beauty, Rihanna’s made one thing damn well clear about her beauty line – it is for EVERYONE. From the multitude of foundation shades to highlighters and eye palettes, RiRi’s always making sure that everyone gets to wear a piece of that Fenty.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Fenty Beauty dropped the most gorgeous shade of red we’ve ever seen – the Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored. Fenty Beauty also claimed that it’s the most “universally flattering” red lipstick on top of an amazing lasting power of 12 hours.
It’s one thing to watch Rihanna deliver the most nonchalantly cool lipstick tutorial, it’s another to swatch it on us normal human beings. Following Fenty Beauty’s claims, we decided to get our hands on the Stunna Lip Paint and test out the hype on 6 Malaysian women with varying skin tones:
“Fenty Beauty’s Stunna Lip Paint was long lasting, but I can’t say it lasted 12 hours for me. I put it on around 10.30am and it lasted after mowing through a burger and soda for lunch. The colour on my bottom lip started chipping around 5pm or so – but that could be my habit of constantly biting my lower lip. I have to admit that the colour truly is amazing. It pops on my dusky skin tone and I got compliments about my lip shade all day.” – Gowri, Real Madrid fan.
“This is literally the sexiest red I’ve ever had on my lips. Riri’s claims are true – it is indeed universally flattering! At first I had doubts about the applicator since it’s got this weird curved shape, but it worked wonders anyway! The formula isn’t exactly transfer-proof, but it lasted on my lips the entire day anyway.” – Miko, Sephora victim.
“This red shade is 100% for everyone! The formula for the Stunna Lip Paint is bizarre – I’ve never tried anything like it! From coffee and sips of water to chicken nuggets, the Stunna Lip Paint stayed on all day long. When I did see a stain on my mug, I was like “Okay, so maybe this red would fade off soon” but it did not budge (or crack!!) for 12 hours straight. However, I can’t say I’m a fan of the applicator. I found it a little troubling to maneouvre through my cupid bow. But for RM105, I’d say Fenty Beauty’s Stunna Lip Paint is an investment. Expect great returns.” – Izzah, secretly a supermodel.
“Finding the perfect red has always been an uphill battle for me, thanks to my tanned skin. After trying out the Stunna Lip Paint by Fenty Beauty, I’ve got to say that Riri definitely know what she’s doing. Stunna’s “Uncensored” is the red shade that I’ve been looking for half my adult life. It’s crazy pigmented and though my lips have a tendency to chap towards the end of the day, I’m happy to say that the formula is forgiving enough and it didn’t dry out or crack my lips at all! Though it isn’t transfer-proof and I had a little trouble with the applicator at first, it still lasted THE WHOLE DAMN DAY – from work, to lunch, to ladies night with the girls. The best part? I never needed to reapply.” – Nad Dardin, self-proclaimed Queen B.
“I’ve always admired girls who can rock the bold red lip look without wearing an awkward face. So before 2017 comes to an end, I’m going bold for once. I feel pretty confident when I got heads turning in this matte Stunna Lip Paint by Fenty Beauty. It truly lives up to the 12-hour long lasting claim. While it did transfer a little on my cutleries and all, it still did its job of staying on all day! Plus, the colour is perfect for the upcoming Christmas parties coming my way.” – Krystle, awkward intern.
“I don’t usually wear red lipsticks, but Fenty Beauty’s Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored is truly something else! The shade matches my yellowish-olive skin tone perfectly and it stood by it’s 12 hours matte wear without me having to do my usual after-meal touch ups. Definitely getting one of these for the holidays.” – Nadee Mode, Barbie-watching 26 year-old.
