Move over, Thylane Blondeau. 6-year-old Russian girl — Anastasia Knyazeva — who already has a burgeoning modelling career, is now being dubbed as the new “most beautiful girl in the world.”
The young model who is represented by President Kids Management, currently has over 500,000 followers (and counting) on an Instagram account that her mother runs since July 2015, which features snapshots of Anastasia during modelling shoots and other events, plus some personal photos as well as cute videos of her singing.
Anastasia has large, striking blue eyes and doll-like features that instantly made her a worldwide favourite, having starred in a number of campaigns including for major Russian brands including Chobi Kids. Amoreco and Kisabiano.
She was also voted the face of Little Miss Aoki, a line from luxury children’s couture house Mischka Aoki, in October last year.
However, despite the enormous support, a number of concerned netizens have criticised the child’s mother for putting her on social media at such a young age.
“The problem with baby branding is that firstly you are sharing information about them without their permission, and secondly you are creating a voice which isn’t actually theirs, and this means that people are getting to know you and not your child,” said psychologist Emma Kenny.
On top of that, some fans have already suggested Anastasia could one day take the crown of Russian model Irina Shayk, who rose to fame in 2007 when she became the face of Intimissimi.
