So it has finally happened, the Golden Globes 2012! Not only is it joining in this crazy, hectic awards season, it is also a time for the A-list star of Hollywood to make serious fashion statements on the red carpet.
Let’s now take a look at our favourite dresses from the Golden Globes 2012 in Beverly Hills, California. Trust us, it was hard to narrow down just a few from so many “to die for” outfits! Oh, have mercy on our envy.
Charlize Theron, as beautiful as she already is, turned up in one of the most dramatic, most beautiful looks in a Dior couture gown. Amongst all the pale hues and white hot looks, her dress definitely topped the list. Queen-like glam, anyone?
Joining the throng of snow-inspired colours is none other than Kate Beckinsale, who looked like a million dollars and more in her strapless Roberto Cavalli gown with delicate sequin embellishment and chiffon pleat detail around her skirt. Wow. Just, wow.
Not only did Nicole Kidman step out in the best accessory a woman can ever have (her husband, Keith Urban), she also had an off-white oyster coloured gown with metallic studded detail by Versace. It totally complemented her hair colour, her skin tone, her figure, her womanly beauty..need we go on?
The winner for “Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series – Drama“, little miss Claire Danes definitely looked well prepared to receive her award in a bold J. Mendel Couture gown. The ecru and black, draped front gown with embroidered cap sleeves had an open back. Yes, she brought sexy back alright!
We all know that Angeline Jolie is nothing short of daring when it comes to dolling up for events and awards. And here she is in a fashion forward Atelier Versace white one shoulder gown accented with a folded crimson red detail. We super adore how she matched the shade of a lipstick to her dress. And is that a red Christian Louboutin “Pharoan” clutch?
One of the world’s richest supermodels, Heidi Klum, took a simple nude custom Calvin Klein collection bisque silk crepe sheath dress to town at the 2012 Golden Globes. It looks innocent enough, but it has a plunging back. We must say it went really well with her million-dollar Lorraine Schwartz bold turquoise necklace.
Madonna totally took the stage in her glittering Reem Arca dress, looking as youthful as ever. She then went on to win the “Best Original Song – Motion Picture” award and gratefully thanked the many collaborators who helped her write the song featured in her first feature film.
Wife of Joel Madden and mother of two, Nicole Richie, showed off a fully figure and a sexy open back with a funky 60s inspired ponytail. The textured silver Julian MacDonald gown was definitely a fresher, more glamorous look for the usually boho-inspired star.
Gracing the red carpet in a stunning gown that certainly stood out against all other pale hues was Emma Stone. She wore a stunning Lanvin custom-made deep plum tulle siren gown that was accessorized with an edgy crystal eagle leather belt. Oh gosh, we want this purple and fuchsia dress so bad!
Last year’s “Best Actress” winner and new mother Natalie Portman looked ravishing in pink on the 2012 Golden Globes red carpet. The beautiful actress had on a Lanvin custom-made fuschia strapless gown. She also decided to go with a simple tousled bun and neutral makeup. We like it, it’s not “too much”.
And there you have it. Just some of the dresses we would really like to wake up to one day – you know, when it magically appears in our wardrobes. We can dream, can’t we?
Which one did you like best?
