If you don’t already know, the Prince of Wales is officially off the market! While it wasn’t that big of a surprise considering Prince Harry‘s stable romance with American actress Meghan Markle, people are curious as to when the grand royal wedding will take place and the Kensington Palace recently took to social media to finally reveal the details of the nuptials!
Upon the announcement of the royal engagement, the pair finally made an official on-screen appearance for a detailed interview on their relationship, engagement and everything in between. While generally announcing that they will be tying the knot in Spring 2018, nonspecific dates were revealed.. until now.
On November 28 in a statement via the Kensington Palace, it has been confirmed that the wedding will take place in May 2018. Likewise, no specific date was announced but rumours are speculating that the royal matrimony will fall on either the first or last weekend of May, which happens to be both bank holidays in England and Wales.
While the world waits on their union, it was only appropriate for them to tie the knot in May, after the arrival of Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s third child. The parents are expecting their child in April 2018, and besides witnessing the fairytale wedding, the public is also excited to catch a glimpse of Prince George and Princess Charlotte‘s newborn sibling.

Previously, a church wedding was suggested by Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby who wrote, “I am so happy that Prince Harry and Ms Markle have chosen to make their vows before God.” The statement was confirmed and granted permission from The Queen for the wedding to take place in St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
The Kensington Palace also confirmed that all core elements of the marriage ceremony, including the church service, music and decorations as well as the reception afterwards will be of the royal family’s responsibility. The high profile couple is to make their first official joint engagement on Friday, greeting members of the public in an event to mark World AIDS Day.

As for life after marriage, the Suits actress will be retiring from entertainment and she would be gaining U.K. citizenship, but the process is expected to take several years. As a member of the royal family, the actress is also to become the fourth patron of The Royal Foundation, set up by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry in 2009 for charity purposes.
We can’t wait for the grand royal wedding already! <3
