Not happening: Victoria Beckham Will Not Take Part In The Spice Girls Reunion

Legendary pop band Spice Girls have reportedly agreed to a reunion in 2018 which will see them record both a new album and a one-off TV special.

The girl group was originally formed in 1994, before splitting in 2000 following the recording of three studio albums. They reunited for a live tour from 2007 – 2008, produced one music video in 2009 and last performed together at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Attempts to kick start a comeback were scuppered last year when Mel C and Victoria Beckham refused to be involved. Then the group teased fans last month, as Geri Horner, Victoria and Emma Bunton united to film cameos for Mel C’s new video, “Room For Love” which has garnered only 111k views on Youtube – although Mel B was absent.

But it has now emerged that the pop legends have been in intense negotiations for months and are ready to launch their comeback with former manager Simon Fuller, with the release of a one-off documentary and compilation album next year.

US Weekly

“The five of them have been locked in secret talks since the summer, and finally they are all on-board for a 2018 reunion,’ a source told The Sun. “As it stands, they will be working together on a series of projects, which will include an album and a TV special celebrating the Spice Girls.

“Getting Victoria to agree has been a coup for everyone involved, given she has always been the person holding back on a reunion,” the source added.

So.. Will Victoria Beckham stick to pre-recorded singings or is she going to sing for real this time around?

[UPDATE]

Victoria Beckham has confirmed she will not take part in the Spice Girls reunion. The singer-turned-designer who soared to fame in the chart-topping girlband in the nineties, doesn’t want anything to do with a comeback.

Addressing the rumours, a representative for Victoria said, “Victoria has said many times, she loved her time in the Spice Girls and continues to be full of affection for the girls and the happy memories they created together, however her future focus is her family and fashion brand.”

“The constant stories about Victoria taking part in alleged Spice Girls activity is nothing more than tabloid nonsense.”

And while she is distancing herself from her musical past, it looks like her daughter Harper, six, is following in her musical footsteps as she proudly shared a snap of her playing the flute.
