South Korean actor Kim Joo Hyuk of the films The Truth Beneath and My Wife Got Married was killed in a car crash Monday evening at about 6.30pm in Samseong-dong, Seoul. He was 45 years old.
His Mercedes-Benz SUV crashed into another vehicle nearby an I-Park apartment complex, which led his car to crash into the wall and flip down the stairs.
He was removed from the vehicle at about 5.07pm and was taken to the Konkuk University Medical Center, but later died at the hospital.
It has been reported that his family home in Cheongdam-dong is only about three minutes away by car from the location of his accident. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.
Kim’s actress girlfriend Lee Yoo Young was apparently recording for the popular variety show Running Man when she found out about the accident and his passing. She was unable to continue filming later.
