Based on an extraordinary true story, the film Victoria & Abdul is based on the unexpected friendship between Queen Victoria (Academy Award winner Judi Dench) and a young clerk Abdul Karim (Ali Fazal) from India during her Golden Jubilee.
As the Queen continues to challenge the constrictions she faces of her remarkable rule, she forges a devoted alliance with the clerk, who surprisingly has her favour.
Though their relationship is frowned upon by her household and inner circle, she gradually begins to see a changing world through his eyes that helps her reclaim her humanity.
