Wonder how beauty bloggers and celebrities always seem to look oh-so-flawless and shapely? Well, we’ve discovered their ultimate secret beauty tool and the good news is, with practice and good skills, you’ll be able to achieve similar effects.
Yessiree, it’s none other than Photoshop or Fotoshop in this parody we found on the internet. Society’s standard of beauty has been unreal since the ancient Greeks started carving marble, at the latest. Long before digital photography and computer editing, humans have been striving toward an ideal image of ourselves.
According to Jesse Rosten, the creator of this video, “I was watching TV one sleepless night and stumbled upon an infomercial for some beauty product. The commercial showed before and after portraits, that to my eye, looked like the same photo just photoshopped. I laughed to myself. Then I made this video.”
We love how the video is shot, edited and voice over to sound and feel exactly like our favourite makeup brand Maybelline’s, iconic ads. It’s cleverly executed with fantastic explanation and graphics, that even if you’ve never heard of Photoshop in your life, this short video will give you a crash course on the tools used to transform Ordinary Janes into Greek Goddesses.
If you’re already a photographer yourself, you’d be laughing in your seats because you “get it” and are probably guilty of being part of this industry’s conspiracy.

He goes on to say, “This commercial isn’t real, and neither are society’s standards of beauty.” But really, there’s no reason to wave away this video because it tells the truth of the beauty industry. So the next time you beat yourself up over not looking as perfect the cover girls in magazines, watch this video and know that you are as perfect as they are, or even more.
