Sarah Jessica Parker has announced that a third Sex and The City film won’t be made even though a script had already been written, and expressed her sadness over the decision at the New York City Ballet Gala.
Parker, 52, told Extra: “It’s over. We’re not doing it.” She also added, “I’m disappointed. We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell that story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting a third movie.”
The TV show went on for six years from 1998 to 2004, and follows the lives of Carrie, Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) as they endeavoured through the world of dating. It was then transformed into a feature film in 2008, with a second one dropped in 2010, both directed by Michael Patrick King.

Davis has also voiced out regarding the cancellation on Instagram, captioning a pic, “I love to look back at the pics from our LONG history of Sex and the City. I am incredibly lucky to have gotten to play Charlotte through all of her ups and downs ( epitomised in one of my favourite episodes here). It is true that we are not going to be able to make a 3rd film. I wish that we could have made the final chapter, on our own terms, to complete the stories of our characters. It is deeply frustrating not to able to share that chapter (beautifully written by MPK) with all of you. So we will just have our memories, but please know that all of the love and support for us through the years is felt by us and we are so grateful for all of you! SATC forever in our hearts ❤️💗❤️💗❤️💗❤️💗”
On the other hand, Kim Cattrall rebutted claims that the movie was shelved because of the “outrageous demands” of the actors involved. She wrote on Twitter, “Woke 2 a @MailOnline storm! The only ‘DEMAND’ I ever made was that I didn’t want to do a 3rd film….& that was back in 2016″

We’re upset, but you will forever be in our hearts, Sex and The City.
