Miranda Kerr tied the knot to Evan Spiegel a couple of months ago, and she’s recently opened up about her married life. The model casually revealed that she dresses up for when the hubs (also Snapchat’s CEO and co-founder) comes home from work.
“My grandma taught me that men are visual and you need to make a little effort,” the model said in an interview with The Edit. “So when [Evan] comes home, I make sure to have a nice dress on and the candles lit. We make time to have a nice dinner together.”
Kerr added that embracing her feminine side when she’s at home is all part of maintaining her personal work-life balance. “At work, I’m like, ‘We need to do this!’ and, ‘This needs to happen!’ But at home, I slip into my feminine and empower Evan to be in his masculine.”
Kerr, who was previously married to Orlando Bloom, elaborated by saying: “Just be more in my feelings. More gentle, leaning back. It’s a nice balance.”
Spiegel proposed to the former Victoria’s Secret Angel in July 2016, with Kerr announcing the news in an Instagram post (complete with a custom Snapchat filter, of course). The couple had a “small, intimate wedding,” in May this year at their home in Brentwood, California.
At 27, Kerr’s new husband is one of the youngest billionaires in the world. Kerr credits him with encouraging her to turn her attention away from modeling and focus on her skincare business.
“Evan inspired me,” she told the magazine. “He said, ‘Why are you spending your energy working for other companies when you should be focusing on your own? You need to take a risk. If you believe in this, put everything into it.'”
We’re glad that dressing up for Evan works for Miranda, but we’re not big fans of putting people into boxes (women – feminine, men – masculine) or dressing up just for your man. Ladies, if you’re thinking of putting on a dress tonight, we’re hoping that you’re doing it for you.
