There’s young, and then there’s the Yoongs. When it comes to competition, Hanifah Yoong believes that if you’re good enough, you’re old enough. Yin Fah or his muslim name, Hanifah Yoong is the father of famous F1 driver Alex Yoong (Yes, the cute one), as well as Adam, Aiden and Aaliyah.
Malaysia’s youngest athlete, 9-year-old Adam Yoong Hanifah, showed that age is just a number in his SEA Games debut as he won gold in the men’s water ski tricks event today. The talented boy shines like a true sportsman as he performed alongside his brother Aiden Yoong Hanifah, age 11.
During the preliminary round, Adam made a spectacular performance after recording a total mark of 3,550 without falling off in the two trips while Aiden who just recovered from his fever, obtained 3,900 marks.
Meanwhile, his sister Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah, 14, had performed three amazing 360 degree flips in the tricks event which allowed her to obtain 3,480, the highest in her category. Aaliyah won the women’s overall gold medal on Saturday, marking her third gold of the Games.
The competition continues to the finals tomorrow where six gold medals will be at stake. We wish all the best to #AnakAnakMalaysia!
