You’d think that for someone so successful like Mariah Carey who has admitted to being the diva that she is, confidence shouldn’t ever be a concern.. but it seems like we may have been wrong after all.
The gorgeous singer recently posed topless for the Vegas issue cover of Paper magazine with her hair strategically concealing her ample boobs, and if the fishnet stockings, thong and body chain doesn’t scream glamour, we don’t know what will.
Inside the magazine for another photo, the 47-year-old mother of twins dons a diamond embellished clamshell bra, topped off with two tiaras totally apt for the royal highness.
In her interview with Paper on her diva moments, she admittedly claims, “Actually, I have had diva moments, and then people can’t handle it. I guess it’s a little intense, because I come from a true diva: My mother is an opera singer. And that’s a real diva, you know — Juilliard diva.”
But beneath all the glitz and glamour, Mariah also opened up to Page Six about struggling with “low self-esteem”.
“I just feel like I am a regular human being and I deserve the same respect as anybody else,” she said. “I have always had low self-esteem, and people do not recognise that. I can’t measure what type of respect I deserve — I really can’t.”
She went on to detail how music has helped her overcome her insecurities about being biracial, “Growing up different, having the whole thing where I did not know if I fit in… that is why music became such a big part of my life, because it helped me overcome those issues.”
Finally, the “We Belong Together” songstress, who often documents her extravagant lifestyle on her E! reality show Mariah’s World and on social media, admits, “Sometimes it is hard to let your guard down.”
