Going on a trip is especially hard for pet owners who have to succumb to leaving their furkids behind. But now that we’ve got options, we’re taking our fur-children to these pet-friendly hotels when we get a chance:
Seremban
1. The Dusun – Located within the Berembun Forest Reserve, The Dusun served a family as a quiet retreat away from the city. The family now shares this experience by refurbishing the place into a serene getaway for weekenders who want a break from the hustle and bustle. The Dusun is pet-friendly but be sure to call in advance to ensure that they can accommodate your pet.
The Dusun, 3437, Kampung Kolam Air, Mukim Pantai, 71770 Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.
2. Awanmulan – Awanmulan is another nature retreat we love, only a short distance away from Kuala Lumpur. The private retreat is basically a collection of small homes in the hills of Negeri Sembilan, and it’s the perfect place to log off after a long week in the city. If you’re planning on bringing a pet, Awanmulan has a couple of houses that can accommodate pets with prior arrangements.

Ipoh
3. Sekeping Kong Heng – The latest addition to the Sekeping family of retreats, Sekeping Kong Heng is a 3 storey neo-classical building located in the charming old town of Ipoh. Testimony to Ipoh’s decadent past, Kong Heng was used as a hostel to for theatre performers in the adjacent theatre building in the 50s. Guests with pets are restricted to certain rooms, so be sure to call ahead to make arrangements.

Muntri Mews is a pet-friendly boutique hotel infused with Malay, Chinese and European influences with a bright and spacious interior and quirky furnishings. Local heritage landmarks are just within walking distance, the Batu Feringghi beach is a mere 20 minute drive away.
