Move aside, Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston and Tom Hardy – Daniel Craig has confirmed that he will reprise his role as James Bond for the November 2019 instalment of the franchise, though it is yet to be titled.
The 49-year-old actor confirmed it on the Late Show to Stephen Colbert, “We’ve just been trying to figure things out.” Adding, “I always wanted to. I needed a break.”
Craig, who has played James Bond spanning four films, will return for his fifth. Skyfall did the best, whereas 2015’s Spectre grossed about $US880 million worldwide.
Many Craig fans would have considered him a wonderful Bond who has further spotlighted the franchise, but we all know that there have been rumours and debates over who should be the next 007 for years.
Surprisingly in 2015, Craig infamously mentioned that he would rather “slash my wrists” than be in another Bond movie, but later explained that it was merely a joke.
That said, he also suggested that it will be the last one, saying, “I think this is it.”
“I just want to go out on a high note.”
