British singer song-writer and two time Brit award winner, James Bay is set to launch his debut collection with Topman this August.
Widely recognized for his distinct style (and trademark hat), the “Let It Go” singer brings his rockstar aesthetic to Topman, with a carefully curated 13 piece collection. “It’s been a lot of fun teaming up with Topman to design my own collection. I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from performing live and the way I dress on tour. Many of the details I’ve focused on are also based on my own, original drawings and sketches,” said James Bay.
James is a fan of the Topman skinny jean and seems to be a permanent fixture at the Topman Design shows. James has also been heavily involved with the brand over the last year. From colour selection to the choice of stitching, James has worked in detail to produce a collection which fully encompasses his taste.
Drawing inspiration from his mutual interest in both art and music, the collection features original hand drawn illustrations taken from James’ own sketchbooks and can be found on everything from sweats to outerwear. A black denim jacket features an embroidered illustration of two hands interlocking – inspired by his platinum selling album Chaos and the calm, whilst a band tee with the lyrics ‘Let’s be incomplete’ is taken from his song ‘Incomplete’.
Comprised of essential styles such as leather jackets and jeans, the 13 piece collection also includes evening and performance attire which serve to reflect James’ personal life. A two-piece jacquard evening suit is a collection stand-out and uses James’ finger print to produce an all over abstract print. The collection highlights sequined bomber with satin sleeves and skinny jean with embroidered side panels were created with stage performances in mind.
The Topman x James Bay collection will be available to shop across selected stores in the UK and globally by end August. In Malaysia, it will be exclusively available at Topman Pavilion KL and Mid Valley Megamall.
