Last week, the world lost an extremely talented musician, frontman Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, who was found dead in his Los Angeles Palos Verdes home at the age of 41. Sadly, he hung himself due to ongoing struggles with depression.
Following the cancellation of its North American One More Light tour, the rest of the band members of Linkin Park has released a heart-shattering statement regarding the death of Bennington on its official website and on Instagram.
It opens with, “Our hearts are broken.”
“The shockwaves of grief and denial are still sweeping through our family as we come to grips with what has happened.”
They close by commending his “inextinguishable” passion for music, and that, “While we don’t know what path our future may take, we know that each of our lives was made better by you.”
On top of the statement, Linkin Park has also launched a new section on the website designed to aid those struggling with suicidal thoughts and depression themselves.
Rest in peace, Chester. :'(
