We’ve woken up to heartbreaking news..
Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington has been found dead in his Los Angeles Palos Verdes home. He hung himself and was 41.
The singer has struggled with drugs and alcohol for years, and in the past, he mentioned that he had considered committing suicide over abuse as a child by an older male.
He once also revealed that he started smoking pot after his parents divorced when he was 11, which then transitioned to cocaine and methamphetamine use.
Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one.

His death was also confirmed by hand mate Mike Shinoda in a tweet saying, “Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one.”
Shockingly, Bennington’s close friend Chris Cornell, who also committed suicide by hanging this May, would have turned 53 today.
Hours before his death, Linkin Park even uploaded what we assume is the last music video from the band of the song “Talking To Myself”.
Bennington recently performed Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” at Cornell’s memorial service.
Together as a band, Linkin Park has sold 10 million copies of their debut album Hybrid Theory, and another 4 million with Meteora. They are famed for their hits “Faint”, “In the End”, “Crawling” and “Numb/Encore” with Jay-Z, amongst others.
Linkin Park’s latest album One More Light was released in May and the band was supposed to kick off a U.S. tour next week, beginning in Boston.
Bennington is survived by his second wife Talinda and six children. RIP, our condolences go out to his family..
Tributes have been pouring in ever since:
