As Singapore’s National Day approaches, fast-food chain McDonald’s has launched a special menu inspired by local favourites such as Nasi Lemak Burger and Chendol. Our neighbours are known for their love of food, so what better way to celebrate love for the country than tasting local delights?
The menu is launched in conjunction with the Singapore Food Festival 2017, which will be available from today (Jul 13) for a limited period of time at all McDonald’s outlets in Lion City.
The Nasi Lemak Burger consists of a coconut-flavoured chicken thigh patty, fried egg, caramelised onions and cucumber slices topped with sambal sauce and served between semolina buns.
On top of that, the Chendol McFlurry will also be launched in Singapore after appearing across the Causeway previously in Johor Bahru.
It contains chendol jelly bits and gula melaka sauce served with vanilla soft serve ice-cream, coconut pie with nata de coco bits, and its available in three types of chendol ice-cream cones – chendol melaka cone, chendol melaka twist and chendol melaka chococone.
Other items include kueh salat cake, a pandan sponge cake with a glutinous rice layer, as well as two drinks: Bandung McFizz and Pandan Coco Frappe, which blends coconut and pandan flavours with grass jelly. Criss-cut fries will also make a return for a limited time as part of the special menu.
M lovin’ it.
