In more exciting news, Michelle Branch and Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney are engaged!
While celebrating Branch’s 34th birthday last Sunday, Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney had reportedly proposed to the singer/songwriter of “Everywhere”. The birthday girl took to Instagram after Carney popped the question.
Branch was previously married to bassist Teddy Landau for 11 years.The couple broke up in 2015 and share an 11-year-old daughter, Owen. Carney was previously wed to writer Denise Grollmus from 2007 until 2009, and Emily Ward from 2012 until 2016.
In February 2015, Branch met the drummer at a Grammys party in Los Angeles. They began songwriting together and recording her latest album, Hopeless Romantic, and fell in love during the process. “There’s songs on the record from the moment I realized I was gonna get divorced to the moment I fell in love with Patrick,” she told People in April. “It runs the gamut.”
“I’d never had someone who was that supportive,’ she said. ‘He’s an amazing, amazing human. We both just jumped in with both feet.” The couple will be touring together in support of Branch’s album over the summer.
