The teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Marvel Studios’ Black Panther just got released and in just 24 hours, it raked up over a whopping 89 million views.
The upcoming stand-alone film centred on the character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby takes viewers on a trip to the fictional African nation of Wakanda, featuring a predominantly black cast.
The Black Panther is played by Chadwick Boseman, also known as T’Challa in the film – the king of Wakanda who defends his people from internal and external threats.
Marvel and Disney’s trailer for Thor: Ragnarok is the most-watched ever with 136 million views, whereas Black Panther comes in second, surpassing views for Captain America: Civil War (61 million) and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (52 million).
Marvel Studios’ Black Panther hits cinemas in February 2018.
