Compared to his predecessor Sean Connery, the veteran star played Bond in a more humorous take, and as Bond, he was a suave smooth operator who was able to weave himself out of a tricky situation effortlessly.
Moore, who was also known for his humanitarian work with Unicef, died in Switzerland, and according to his children, a private funeral will be held in Monaco.
Amongst his Bond movies include Live and Let Die (1973), The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983) and A View to Kill (1985).
