With a fondness of both regions’ rich and vivid cultures, Executive Sous Chef of The Straits Estate Unaver Unabia, who hails from Sabah, spotlights his specialties that fuse ethnic components of Middle Eastern fare with Malaysian favourites without compromising the quintessence that makes up Malaysia.
Amongst the yummy delights to look forward to include kurma, hummus, moutabel, fattoush salad, kerabu pucuk paku dengan udang kering, and serunding ayam dan daging to start, before moving on to mains comprising lamb shank tagine, lamb ouzi, shish taouk, Melaka-style kawah kari kepala ikan, ayam percik Terengganu and more.
Further satiating the palate, the Straits & Arabian Bazaar also showcases live stations for roasted and steamed chicken rice, lightly marinated grilled fish such as tenggiri, pari, tongkol and cincaru, and seafood, chicken kebab and shawarma, as well as a noodle soup.
Complete your meal with decadent treats like a chocolate fountain with condiments, cakes, baklava, fresh fruit, bubur serawa nangka, pengat pisang, Malay kuih, or snack on the assortment of deep fried crackers or keropok in the likes of melinjo and kerepek ikan.
The Straits & Arabian Bazaar at The Straits Estate, V E Hotel & Residence is priced at RM98 nett per adult from 29 May to 5 June for early birds. Thereafter, the Bazaar spread is priced at RM128 nett per adult. Aside from that, the two Muhibbah Dome Set menu for up to 10 pax costs RM1,288 nett or RM1,588 nett per table.
