Steve Carell and Emma Stone first starred in a movie together in 2011 for Crazy, Stupid, Love, and the duo are now reuniting for their upcoming film Battle Of The Sexes that details the actual 1973 tennis match between Bobby Riggs (Carell) and Billie Jean King (Stone).
That iconic televised sporting face-off ignited a global conversation regarding feminism, gender equality and battles such as equal pay. The film will be a case of King’s feminism against Rigg’s chauvinism, due to make timely entertainment for today.
The synopsis reads, “Together, Billie and Bobby served up a cultural spectacle that resonated far beyond the tennis courts and animated the discussions between men and women in bedrooms and boardrooms around the world.”
Featuring other cast like Sarah Silverman, Alan Cumming, Andrea Riseborough and Bill Pullman, Battle Of The Sexes hits theatres end September 2017.
