Miley Cyrus new track “Malibu” and its music video has just been released, but before you think it’s just another Miley hit, this particular one holds a much deeper meaning.
In an interview with Billboard, the 24-year-old singer mentions that “Malibu”, a love ballad, was written for her fiancé Liam Hemsworth.

She wrote the lyrics in an Uber on the way to The Voice, and she says of the sentimental song, “They’re going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam. So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, ‘This is how I feel?'”
Though her engagement with Hemsworth ended in 2013, they rekindled their romance in 2016, admitting they had to “refall for each other.” On the new song cover, she’s also wearing her engagement ring! How sweet?
To celebrate the release of “Malibu” Cyrus also popped by Radio Disney studios to catch up with some old friends and the folks there plucked out footage of the actress singing “We’re Going to the Beach.”
Her reaction was priceless as she said, “You all are going to freak out,” Miley said. “By the way, my T-shirt says ‘I should have my own TV show.’ That is so funny. That is crazy. That is a jewel. That is a gem.”

“The first time I was ever in this building, which I drove to from Nashville with my mom…I had to sign in at the desk right there and tell them, ‘I’m here for an audition,'” Miley recalled.
Wow, who knew she’d come this far, with a Grammy nomination, sold-out tours and more? “Malibu” was released after a long hiatus, but we’re so happy for her and cannot wait to see what she’s up to next.
