Rihanna literally had no close contenders at the 2017 Met Gala as she was the undisputed Queen at the whole event. Fashion maven bad gal Ri Ri showed up at the red carpet in a gorgeous sculptural and ornate Comme des Garçons dress that was completely apt with the avant garde Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons theme of the night.
What made her whole look even more of a stunner though is her otherworldly and risky makeup in pink monochromatic awesomeness, with complementing blush, eyeshadow, lipstick and highlighter. It was surely an effortless slay, but the more important question is – how did she achieve the look?
Inspired by Rihanna’s 2017 Met Gala makeup, YouTuber Mariah Leonard recently shared an informative tutorial on how to get the singer’s unique makeup look, which was a bold reminder that blush (or makeup in general) application techniques can be limitless and is entirely up to your creativity.

Wearing pink blush up to the temples may not be a wearable look for everyone, but so is yellow blush, which, shockingly, is gaining traction amongst beauty junkies on Instagram. Using a draping technique, untraditional yellow pigment is applied onto the natural bone structure of the face to create alluring yellow-flushed looks that are also part alien.
Yellow blush is obviously unavailable in the market as of now, so these makeup revolutionists have turned to yellow hued eyeshadows for these looks. Check out these cool interpretations!
