MTV presented the newly revamped MTV Movie & TV Awards, aired for the first time ever on Sunday, hosted by Pitch Perfect and Workaholics’ star Adam Devine.
Previously known as the MTV Movie Awards from 1992-2016, the network honoured favourites in both film and television. Stranger Things took home the first-ever show of the year award while Beauty and the Beast nabbed the movie of the year award.
The MTV Movie & TV Awards 2017 was also the first event to not differentiate between actors based on gender. Emma Watson won best actor within the movie category for her performance in Beauty and the Beast while Millie Bobby Brown won best actor in a TV show for playing Eleven in Stranger Things.
