Move aside lip art, because brow art is having a moment on Instagram right now.
After makeup artist Stella Sironen accidentally on purpose made feather brows a thing last week, another makeup artist named Athena Paginton is rivaling the feather brows trend with a spiky update – the barbed wire brows.
To be completely honest, the barbed wire brows started before feather brows as it was first posted on March 10 on Paginton’s Instagram page. It looks kind of like an avant garde version of the cowlick or bedhead for brows. Though created earlier with over 7,000 likes on the post, barbed wire brows kind of flew under the radar and wasn’t quite the viral sensation as the feather brows.
However, other makeup artists are starting to catch on now and recreating the look. Denver-based makeup artist, Sara Jean, showed off her barbed wire brow look on Instagram. Her caption noted that she was inspired by Paginton.

Though we aren’t fans of Elmer glue on brows, we do love that everyone’s experimenting with more daring looks. WE reckon the barbed wire brows is perfect for those edgy nights out. Would you try the barbed wire brows trend? Let us know!
