For the past few years, Laneige makes a commitment annually to offer rural communities the access to clean water and 2017 will be no different. In partnership with the Global Peace Foundation, its corporate social responsibility project – the Waterful Sharing Campaign – is back in full force.
Many communities in these villages unfortunately are deprived of clean water as a provision. The consumption and usage of dirty water from the rivers or ponds cause waterborne diseases like diarrhoea and skin issues, besides compromised immune systems that are susceptible to illness due to water contaminants.
Previous beneficiaries of the cause, Kampung Binjai in Pahang and Kampung Ulu Geruntum in Perak will be provided with an extra of four water filtration systems each, on top of the previous ones installed. Adding on to the list of beneficiaries this year are Kampung Padang in Pahang and Kampung Poh in Perak.
The advanced water filtration system – LifeStraw® Community – converts contaminated water into microbiologically safe drinking water in the community setting. The 50-litre tank with a 12L per hour filtration potential ensures a continuous supply of clean water for the residents.
Laneige aims to raise RM100,000 this year, and to contribute, simply purchase the Refill Me Water Sleeping Mask, which now comes in a limited edition Lavender scent, and receive a complimentary Refill Me water bottle, as well as a sticker to pledge your commitment toward the Waterful Sharing Campaign.
