The longest running theatrical show in Malaysia, MUD: The Story of Kuala Lumpur will return to Panggung Bandaraya for the third consecutive year to showcase the musical’s finale.
The collaboration between Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and Enfiniti Group delivers eye-opening message of our forefathers’ humble beginnings, presented by a diverse group of casts which perfectly epitomises our demographics, making it easily relatable to the local audience and interesting to an international audience.
MUD is sure to make KL-ites proud of their state as it does an excellent job of revealing the story of Kuala Lumpur in a way that will tug at your heartstrings with energetic musical numbers and cheeky, ‘only- in-Malaysia’ one liners.
The journey of bringing MUD to the stage began with extensive historical, visual and data research on Kuala Lumpur and brought to life by a team of designers who drew inspiration from various artists and artistic styles of Malaysia.
This ranges from hand drawn batik to Islamic architecture which are reflected throughout the show from the costumes to soundscape as well as the LED backdrop. The music composition is inspired by traditional influences that delved into Indian percussive elements, Chinese string instruments and Malay melodies.
MUD: The Story of Kuala Lumpur which will be running until 30th April 2017, also offers a limited edition set of merchandise for every ticket holders. Fans may purchase the tickets via website or over the counter at Panggung Bandaraya Box Office. For more information, please head over to MUD Kuala Lumpur.
