Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were the O.G. tween moguls turned to fashion empire tycoons, who achieved their success without joining a single social media platform. They were the biggest stars of our time, and it killed us for not being able to connect with the twins, even if you’re a member of their official fan club (#noregrets).
The notoriously private actress, Mary-Kate who doesn’t usually share stories on her personal live, may have opened up just a little about married life with her 47-year-old French banker husband Olivier Sarkozy, who she married back in 2015 after three years of dating.
“We’re lucky working hard comes quite naturally for us,” she said of her and her sister’s low-key lifestyle. “We don’t need so much time to sit and think and ponder. But then I have a husband, two stepkids and a life; I have to go home and cook dinner. I ride horses on the weekends. You find the thing that helps you relax and if you don’t have it, you have to look for it. Or you get burned out and then you’re not productive.”
Unlike the rest of us, there’s no time wasted on snapping selfies as neither has a social media account. “Because we don’t dive into that whole world of social media and we don’t have Facebook, we’ve never been connected to our fans in that way,” added Ashley. “We’ve stayed quite sheltered in that sense.”
Mary-Kate married Olivier, a 47-year-old French banker and half-brother of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, at a private residence in New York City on November 27, 2015. Meanwhile, Ashley has dated financier Richard Sachs, 58, since November.
