The weekends are heaven sent for late risers like ourselves, and nothing beats indulging in a sumptuous brunch before kickstarting another period of #hustle. Besides, what’s there not to love about spoiling yourselves silly with copious amounts of food and alcohol?
Malaysian foodies and visitors are easily spoilt for choice in respect to KL’s vibrant dining scene, but there’s a new upscale kid on the block definitely worth splurging on – An epicurean French-Mediterranean Sunday Brunch at The Brasserie, right within the swanky St. Regis Kuala Lumpur.
As a prestigious 5-star hotel that breathes sophistication under its DNA, St. Regis Kuala Lumpur takes cue from the daily French markets to curate a superior no-nonsense spread of premium imported produce that’s sure to satiate even the most finicky eaters.
Quality is of the essence here, and diners can expect an assortment of fresh seafood comprising the poached Royal Alaskan King Crab and freshly shucked Fine de Claire oysters, as well as clams, cockles and briny shellfish alongside a variety of condiments. Flavourful freshly smoked and cured salmon are also made available beside the salad bar.
Other notable offerings include the St. Regis signature Heirloom Tomato served with Creamy Burrata cheese, the roasted Black Angus rib eye served aside from a poultry and fish dish on rotation at the carving stations. To complement, savoury sauces or gravy and sides such as rosemary roasted potatoes go hand in hand.
Diners who crave for something extra can opt to order off the a la carte menu featuring Linguine served with Black Angus Bolognese, Eggs Florentine, Waffle served with Foie Gras Terrine and Mango Chutney, and the Asparagus Risotto. Don’t forget to request for chef specials as we got our Royal Alaskan King Crab baked with delicious hollandaise sauce on top.
Much to our delight, the cheese station was unlike any other as it showcased a wide range of imported cheeses like the Vacherin Mont d’Or and Roquefort AOP Papillon to the pungent Munster and creamy camembert at the other end of the spectrum, served with nuts, dried fruit and crackers.
To cap off the feast on a high note, reach for the yummy desserts such as the homemade cinnamon churros, magnum fudge brownies, assorted macarons, other cakes and tarts, or oasis of fresh fruit. The free flow of the tangy Assam Boi Mary cocktail, champagne, and red or white wine further sealed the deal for us.
The Sunday Brunch at St. Regis Kuala Lumpur is priced at RM298 nett per pax with non-alcoholic beverages, and RM468 nett per pax with bottomless Veuve Clicquot champagne alongside other wines. Available between 12pm and 3pm every Sunday, reservations and enquiries can be made via thebrasserie@stregis.com or +603-27276666.
