Emma Watson was recently featured on the March cover of Vanity Fair, and in the magazine, one photo showcases the Beauty and the Beast actress in a capelet draped over her bare chest, exposing a lot of underboob.
Naturally, people started calling her out for being hypocritical of her feminist views, which has left Watson a little.. bewildered.
For instance, a radio host Julia Hartley-Brewer commented about the image, “…she complains that women are sexualised and then sexualises herself in her own work. Hypocrisy.”
“It just always reveals to me how many misconceptions and what a misunderstanding there is about what feminism is,” Watson responded to the criticism.
“Feminism is about giving women choice. Feminism is not a stick with which to beat other women with. It’s about freedom, it’s about liberation, it’s about equality. I really don’t know what my tits have to do with it. It’s very confusing.”
Evidently, Watson, as the feminist she is, is expressing sexuality in her own terms and it is nothing but liberating.
“We’d been doing so many crazy things on that shoot but it felt incredibly artistic and I’ve been so creatively involved and engaged with [fashion photographer Tim Walker], and I’m so thrilled about how interesting and beautiful the photographs were,” Watson said.
