The way it works is really simple – you squeeze a pearl-sized amount of any (powder, oil, gel, ANY) cleanser onto the punch pad, add water, and pump it until it’s whipped like a meringue. The light, whipped texture comprised of micro bubbles creates a super-soft lather that doesn’t strip the important bits off your skin while reaching deeper into the epidermis to clean impurities and makeup.
The Marshmallow Whip Maker did claim that it promises to “reduce the pH level” of the cleanser, which, TBH, we’re not quite sure how we feel about. But dermatologists have said that whipping up your cleanser does make it more gentle on the skin, however it doesn’t do much for the pH ‘coz all you’re really doing is adding air.
If balancing your pH is a priority, try whipping up a naturally gentle cleanser with a lower pH that won’t strip natural moisturizers from the skin.
So here’s what we got so far from the whole Marshmallow Whip Maker phenomenon – A) it’s super useful for sensitive skin because the lather will irritate your complexion a lot less and B) it’s fun and cheap. Seriously. It’s USD 6. That’s less than RM30!
