Jeremy Scott Sent A Toilet Roll Down The Runway For Moschino’s Fall ’17 MFW Show

No one else does cheeky quite like Moschino, and designer Jeremy Scott sure did deliver for the Italian fashion house’s Fall 2017 collection when he sent several models down the Milan Fashion Week runway in outfits that looked like they were literally made out of trash.

Think coats that were made to look like they were put together with up-cycled cardboard packing boxes covered in logos, random labels and shipping tape, dresses haphazardly designed with disheveled paper and plastic bags, a scrunched up black trash bag gown and an avant garde looking skirt shaped with shower curtains.

Scott’s collection that was built around the idea of turning waste into couture may look cheap and random, but in fact, is functional and luxurious. The dress that looks like it is slapped together with paper is actually made out of premium leather, intently treated to resemble the look and feel of paper.

Call it haute up-cycling if you will, but weird certainly has its perimeters and ours was questioned when Scott sent a bag down the runway that was just a roll of toilet paper looped with a chain and the word “Moschino” printed on it. Yeap, two ply toilet paper. Just straight up toilet paper, not fancy leather, or silk, or even cotton.

Though that aforementioned bag may seem like the cherry on top, it wasn’t the only distinct accessory on the show. There were bags made out of one individual Converse sneaker, a pump, and get this – a sock. Let’s not even begin with the cuff bracelet that appears to be a die cut recycled tin can or the feather duster headpiece..

We got to give to Scott.
