For weeks now, Oscar pundits and awards-circuit journalists have been saying virtually the same thing, that La La Land should dominate the 2017 Academy Awards, just like they did at the Golden Globes. But as anyone who’s been following the red carpet knows, there is no such thing as a complete certainty when it comes to award shows.
Just as La La Land was announced as the night’s Best Picture winner, producer Jordan Horowitz rushed out to announce that there had been a mistake with the envelopes and that Moonlight had actually taken the top honour.
