We can pretty much say with full confidence that we’ve seen it all after the 2017 Grammy Awards. Stars hit the red carpet for music’s biggest night on Sunday in a bevy of outrageous fashions, and surprisingly it wasn’t Lady Gaga who rocked one of the most riskiest looks of the night.
Best Dressed Celebs: Who Slayed This Season?
1. Rihanna
No one rocks a full, ballgown skirt with a tiny crop top quite like RiRi, who slayed the red carpet in a dramatic, gorgeous two piece. The Umbrella songstress hit the Grammys with an Armani Privé top with encrusted tangerine jewels, which she paired with a ruffled skirt of voluminous deep black silk organza.
2. Carrie Underwood
The lady in red kills. Carrie Underwood made a knockout entrance in a beaded red gown with bell sleeves, matching her perfectly mussed hair as it adds a laid-back touch.
3. Paris Jackson
Paris looked absolutely incredible in this fashion-forward Balmain jumpsuit. However, we might have a problem with her hair. Can somebody hire a stylist for her, please?
4. Tori Kelly
Tori Kelly looked naturally beautiful in an emerald green off-the-shoulder dress with ruffles. The American Idol alum looked radiant in the Spanish-inspired asymmetrical gown, matching a pair of oversized vintage gold drop earrings and chunky bangle bracelet, looking chic like Esmeralda from Hunchback The Notre Dame.
5. Lea Michele
Two pieces are better than one in this stunning separates look. Glee star Lea Michele paired this floral, sheer look with a deep side part and pink makeup.
6. Diana Gordon
Pulling off a minimal ensemble, this remix of an off-the-shoulder top was just flawless, especially when matched with the singer’s lustrous, untamed locks.
7. Adele
Channeling Pantone’s Colour of the Year, the amazing musician looked gorgeous in green! Adele rocked the red carpet in a textured, sage green number by Givenchy Couture.
8. Beyonce
Nobody can rock King Triton’s inspired crown quite like the majestic Queen Bey. Pictured with her mother and daughter, Blue Ivy, the trio looked remarkable in gold flowy dresses, making us feel like we need to be a part of this family asap!
Worst Dressed Celebs: What Were They Thinking?
Awards season is often the time when stars do their best to impress on the red carpet with perfectly-tailored ensembles to exude elegance, but the Grammys are often a different beast altogether. Every year, the world’s top recording artists seem to be competing to out-shock one another on the carpet with horrifying frock after another, and this year was certainly no different.
1. Cee Lo Green
The most baffling of the lot was most definitely Cee Lo Green, who looked like a cartoon monster who’s about to take over the world with a floor-length gold jacket, gold gloves and a whole headpiece in gold. Although conspiracy theorists have claimed that we might get visited by aliens this year, we didn’t expect to see one so soon!
2. Joy Villa
Joy Villa doesn’t need an interview to make her views known. The singer’s red, white and blue gown had Trump and his slogan, Make America Great Again written on either side. Although the star mentioned that her outfit is all about love, we couldn’t help but to question.. Why?
3. Katy Perry
Katy, Katy. Everything looks wrong in this picture, well, except for her hair and make up, which made her look like beauty goddess. The 1920s inspired dress designed by Tom Ford is pretty, but it doesn’t look like it was tailored for the starlet, who is undoubtedly voluptuous.
4. Solange Knowles
The hipster Knowles sibling is known to have a knack for wearing head-turning garments, however this time around, her Grammy Awards dress choice has left us with mixed feelings. The gold metallic gown is of a pleasant colour, however the ruffles covering her belly doesn’t seem necessary or very flattering for her figure.
5. Girl Crush
First of all, is she channeling Lady Gaga in her early days? The starlet looked as if she rolled right out of A&W and took the entire ball pit with her, sporting a rhinestone-speckled bralet over a ballgown skirt covered in plastic balls, as well as a matching clutch. It ain’t a good look honey.
6. Lady Gaga
Leading up the list for this year’s worst dressed is Lady Gaga, who managed to show off maximum underboob in a barely-there black croc-skin top that had its sleeves and high collar both decked in black spines. It’s just bizarre.
7. Taraji P. Henson
The actress may have recently played an employee at NASA in her recent Award-winning film Hidden Figures, but her dress at the Grammy’s wasn’t out-of-this-world in a good way, with piles of embroidered stars, moons and lightning bolts on purple satin.
8. Jacqueline Van Bierk
Okay, Jacqueline must have some really bad friends. Why would anyone let her opt for this lackadaisical DIY look? The singer certainly took an interesting route for a Grammy-themed gown with a mermaid tail sheer dress with dozens of CDs tacked onto it, which she then inexplicably accessorised with blue fingerless gloves and far too much bronzer.
