AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search: A Platform For Asean Designers To Shine

Are you a fashion design genius who have been hiding your unique talent and skill under covers, waiting for your big break to finally arrive? Well, here’s your chance!

AirAsia is calling all aspiring fashion designers across ten participating countries in Asean to receive the opportunity of a lifetime with the launch of their Runway Ready Designer Search 2017, a design competition which will run from April to June, to search for two of the most outstanding fashion designers who will represent their country at the Grand Finale ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on August 2017.

You need to win this competition because grand prizes of up to at least RM350,000 will be up for grabs, including a confirmed slot in KL Fashion Week Ready To Wear 2018, RM25,000 cash sponsored by FashionValet to produce a capsule collection which will be sold on their official website, 150,000 AirAsia BIG Points as well as vouchers for AirAsia flights and more!

Come on, you know this is getting interesting.

Plus, nobody will judge you if you lose, unless of course, by the star-studded panel of judges consisting of renowned fashion designers from each country such as Q Design and Play from Thailand, Anthony  Ramirez from the Philippines and Mel Ahyar from Indonesia will be part of the panel of judges for the auditions at each respective cities.

Malaysia’s very own Alia Bastamam, renowned fashion designer as well as Yang Mei Ling, Editor of FEMALE Malaysia magazine will also be part of the judging panel for the Malaysian auditions. Meanwhile, Founder of KL Fashion Week Ready To Wear, Andrew Tan and Co-Founder of FashionValet, Vivy Yusof will be permanent judges across all auditions.

How to participate:

Simply submit three (3) sketches of women’s ready-to-wear inspired by Asean destinations and submit your entries along with your completed registration form, available ​here. This designer search is open to any individual of any nationality, age 30 years old or below and residing in any of the ten participating Asean countries.

AirAsia is also KL Fashion Week Ready To Wear 2017’s Preferred Travel Partner and will be flying in fashion designers from India, China, Australia, Japan and South Korea to be featured on the KL Fashion Week Ready To Wear runway from 16 – 20 August 2017.
