Trust the Japanese folks to always bring their A-game in coming up with the most peculiar sh*t ever..

With that said, this study from the Land of the Rising Sun is one that we’re all for. Eating ice cream for breakfast increases your brain activity for the day. Mmhmm, that’s right.

Professor Yoshihiko Koga from Kyorin University in Tokyo fed his test subjects ice cream and gave them a series of mental tests.

Subjects who scarfed down ice cream right after getting up from bed performed tasks significantly quicker and more accurately compared to those who didn’t have breakfast and those who only drank water.

We know, skeptics may argue that any kind of breakfast, whether it’s green juice, a full-on hearty platter or ice cream, will escalate brain activity and in turn, improve productivity. But, perhaps ice cream has far superior powers?

Take it with a grain of salt, but it’s interesting nonetheless.
