The network that celebrates women worldwide, DIVA, shines the spotlight on 18 girls vying to become The Next Miss Universe Malaysia 2017. Catch their cutthroat journey to the crown in the premium channel’s new reality series, beginning 18 January, every Wednesday at 8:55PM only on Astro DIVA, Channel 723.
The six part 30-minute episodes will feature momentous expedition, from grueling auditions and challenges to the crowning ceremony of Miss Universe Malaysia at the grand finale, where she will be rewarded with a cash prize of MYR 50,000 (USD 11,150) and various marvellous prizes worth over MYR 150,000 (USD 33,450). The lucky beauty pageant winner will then be the country’s representative to compete against international contestants at the world famous 2017 Miss Universe competition later this year.
Beauty pageants are highly popular in Asia and the series promises to offer all the makings of great television such as cutthroat competition, smart and beautiful women, and the ultimate prize of representing Malaysia in Miss Universe 2017.
The reality series will be joined by Malaysia’s leading style experts offering their expertise as guest judges including fashion designer duo of the homegrown label Rizman Ruzaini, Wan Mohd Ruzaini Wan Jamil and Rizman Nordin, InTrend‘s fashion editor, Iqbab V Azwan Mukhtaram, Glam‘s fashion editor, Aizat Aidid, as well as actress and TV personality, Nur Fazura and celebrity photographer Simon Chin.
Meanwhile, National Director of the Miss Universe Malaysia Organization and Miss Universe Malaysia 2003, Elaine Daly will serve on the panel of resident judges, alongside Malaysian actor Dato’ Hans Isaac and actress Debbie Goh.
