You know those free camera bags that they give you free with every DSLR purchase? Yeah, those ugly, bulky, manly looking bags with compartments for everything and nothing? Well the sad news is, that it never matches with anything in our wardrobe but the good news is, there is still hope.
If you’re scratching your heads thinking of what to get for your photographer bestie, girlfriend or sister without blowing on something expensive like a new lens or tripod, look no further than Kelly Moore camera bags for women photographers by yes, you got that right, a female photographer named Kelly Moore.
Ever since we’ve picked up the DSLR, we’ve been searching for that one perfect camera bag but unfortunately, fashion always seems to come with a hefty price tag so we gave up and settled for a boring padded bag in the end. Just a couple of weeks ago, our friends from Hambone dropped us an email and asked if we’d like to try out Kelly Moore camera bags.
To date, there are eight Kelly Moore bag styles to suit every type of woman and the good news is, the designs are gorgeous with over get this, 20 color options! When we first laid eyes on the bag, we can’t help but think, “Give us Moore!”
So here’s the lovely B-Hobo in all its glory!
Named after her Kelly’s best friend Brandy Howard who had a hand in designing the bag, The B-Hobo bag comes in seven colors: mustard, red, Heather grey, Muted Teal, Grassy Green, Almost Black and Walnut. The bag is the perfect transition from a day at the office to a wedding during the weekends.
For people like me who tend to forget zipping their bags, the flap is perfect to prevent fall outs or theft (well, almost). There are two front pockets and a larger pocket on the bag, all with zippers on them. It’s not thick or deep but it’s perfect for keeping some memory cards and a spare battery or two. The pockets on the sides of the bag are for your phone.
The bag also comes with two straps: the messenger style goes up to 56 inches and a shorter strap which will make it look closer to any ordinary female handbag. There are two padded removable velcro dividers which you can adjust according to your sizing needs. It fits up to three lenses or a camera with the lens attached along with a 70-200mm.
While the bag is perfect in all aspects, if you’re small sized or unfit, weight can become an issue. The B-Hobo bag itself is slightly heavy even without anything in it already so if you’re planning to lug around a full frame camera be prepared to build muscles, which is not a bad thing really.
Although it can carry relatively a lot of gear, we recommend against doing so because the weight isn’t divided across your body evenly and can result in a bruised shoulder at the end of the day. Otherwise, it’s perfect and keeps your camera safe. If you have a mirrorless camera which is far smaller than a DSLR, you can easily pop in your tablet in there too for protection!
If you’re on the eco-route, be glad to know that Kelly Moore bags are made with water-resistant man-made material that feels supple and not stiff so you can easily clean them with a damp cloth anytime!
The Kelly Moore B-Hobo bag retails for RM560 while the other bags are affordable priced between RM550-RM800. For the quality and functionality you get, we’d say it’s worth the price tag!
Other bags in the Kelly Moore series include the the Juju, 2 Sues, Mimi, The Posey, Kelly Boy, Classic and Libby. If you need more convincing, hop on over to Hambone or quickly place your order here at Tech Garage so that it’ll arrive at your doorstep by Christmas eve!
