Asia’s favourite western entertainment channel, Star World, has recently announced the addition of two new judges to one of its most well-loved modelling based reality program, Asia’s Next Top Model (AsNTM) as it returns for its fifth season in 2017.
Who are the new judges? Highly experienced professionals in the fashion industry, model mentor Cara Grogan and 2016’s Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach will be joining host Cindy Bishop and creative director Yu Tsai on the modelling competition’s cast of fashion VIPs, to bring a greater prestige to the show.
We’re not sure about you, but here at Lipstiq, we’re extremely stoked to have Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach as the special guest for AsNTM Season 5! Having recently crowned as the 64th Miss Universe and the third Filipina to take on the title, Pia will without a doubt, elevate viewers excitement and add a touch of glam to the reality series.
The 2016 Miss Universe is not a stranger to on-cam experience since she started commercial modelling at age 11. She developed her skills in the fashion industry by working from the ground up as a stylist and writer for the lifestyle section of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, and after three years of training for Miss Universe, Pia finally won the title and has since become an in-demand authority on beauty and fashion, besides being a devoted advocate for HIV/AIDS education and prevention.
Cara Grogan’s presence will definitely bring significant experience to AsNTM Season 5, and we’ll tell you why. At age 17, the Hong Kong starlet started off her modelling career and fully committed to it when she was 22, going on to host shows on Channel V and National Geographic Channel as well as making global appearances and working internationally in an effort to further her career in acting and television while embracing a vibrant lifestyle.
She has walked runways for exclusive brands such as Dior and Max Mara, starred in numerous commercials, print ads and fashion editorials, as well as covers features for top tier magazines such as Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Marie Claire.
Guided by household names Cindy Bishop and Yu Tsai, the two new judges are more than ready to guide this season’s hopefuls through challenges that will transform them to become the next top model in Asia, where the models will have to undergo a journey of self-actualization, giving viewers a fascinating glimpse into the glamorous yet high-stakes world of fashion.
