What’s your idea of a hairbrush that does the job? Probably the bristles depending on your hair texture, and the type of brush – paddle, round, detangling – but that’s about it.
Well, at CES 2017 tech show, anything can happen, and thus, beauty giant L’Oreal has unveiled a smart hairbrush called The Hair Coach, and get this – it costs approximately RM900. So, what makes it so great?
The brainchild of a partnership between L’Oreal, Kérastase and Withings, the smart hairbrush is equipped with a microphone, gyroscope and accelerometer, amongst other sensors, to help consumers alleviate their hairbrushing technique.
It even vibrates if you brush too hard and it records the sounds of breaking hair before building up a profile of the consumer’s hair type, texture, and overall condition.
The hairbrush then shares data via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to an app, whereby the consumer can assess and monitor hair quality and the results of different hair routines, on top of product recommendations.
The Hair Coach will be available Fall 2017. Highly unnecessary, or totally genius? You tell us..
