The creator of iconic cartoon and comic strip Lao Fu Zi or Master Q, Alfonso Wong, has passed away at age 93 in United States from an organ failure.
OMQ Comics said in a statement, “Lao Fu Zi comics were Alfonso Wong’s life.”
“He loved life. With his humorous style, he unfolded Lao Fu Zi‘s story, accompanying generations of readers.”
Lao Fu Zi first began in the 1960s and then gained popularity all across Asia, with circulation going on until today. The new comic strips are done by graphic artist Ronny Cuxun.
Wong was a private man, and spent his retirement fishing and investing his time in pottery. Rest in peace..
