Last weekend, Tiger STREATS took us to the streets ya’ll!
Over 700 food enthusiasts were invited to gather under one roof for an intriguing Michelin culinary experience, where the guests were taken to a vibrant street-meets-fine-dining pop-up restaurant, held at MH Platinum Warehouse in Setapak.
The world’s first culinary mash-up featured Penang born Hawker Chan, the first hawker stand to win a prestigious Michelin Star with his winning dish, the infamous Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle, alongside Babe KL’s Michelin star chef, Jeff Ramsey, who’s also the former chef of Tokyo’s Mandarin Oriental.
A menu of contrasts were served by both chefs starting with appetisers by Chef Ramsey called Down the Rabbit Hole, an intriguing take on well-loved local favourites nasi lemak and roti banjir, followed by our favourite, the Laksa Injections, which were served in tubes packed with the flavours of three types of laksa.
As for the mains, the crowd had a wonderful opportunity to experience Hawker Chan’s signature Chicken Rice, giving them a chance to judge the Michelin star winning dish themselves. Our dessert was a culinary masterpiece, brainchild of the collaboration between Hawker Chan and Chef Ramsey called Two Makes a Blossom, curated exclusively for Tiger STREATS.
In conjunction with the commencement of Tiger Beer’s Chinese New Year 2017 campaign, guests were presented with Tiger STREATS inspired Yee Sang dish, which were prepared with unexpected ingredients, creating a new twist on tradition to kick off the new lunar year.
That’s not all. Guests were in for another surprise when the hawker stations brought by renowned local food establishments, namely Tujo Bar-sserie & Grill, Chocha Foodstores, Hoppers, and Inside Scoop, revealed that they carry contemporary interpretations of local street food, allowing guests to wrap up their dinner with ultimate satisfaction.
