OMG! This could make so much of a difference in the lives of Malaysian wanderlusters.

AirAsia’s AirAsia X unit plans to start flying to the USA by the first half of 2017, with Hawaii being the first destination.

With that said, linking Kuala Lumpur with Honolulu via Osaka, Japan, is still in the works as it awaits approval from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.

In 2018, AirAsia is also aiming to launch its new Airbus A330neo craft to Europe. It is still in development as of now.

AirAsia used to fly to London and Paris from Kuala Lumpur but dropped the service in 2012 because of high fuel prices. Its old gas-guzzling A340 long-haul planes have now been replaced with new generation high-efficiency counterparts, although those routes were never resumed.

AAAHHH, HAWAII! Maybe we should start making plans soon? 😀
