It has been confirmed that Sia and filmmaker husband of 2 years, Erik Anders Lang, are separating.
“After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple,” the pair said in a statement to E! News. “We are, however, dedicated to remaining friends. There will be no further comment.”
While the couple enjoyed much of their relationship privately and away from the spotlight, the pair was able to make red carpet appearances during their marriage.
Most recently, the twosome held hands while attending a pre-Grammys party by Spotify in February 2016. Sia, who has written songs for Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry and others, is known for her own hits like “Chandelier” and “Cheap Thrills”.
She earned three Grammy nominations on Tuesday, including best pop vocal album for This Is Acting. Lang’s website claims that he had previously created documentaries for Louis Vuitton, Honda, MTV and other major companies.
