Samsung has finally lifted the lid on its 2016 smartwatch model, the Gear S3, adding yet another innovative wearable to its existing range of timepieces.
Following the Gear S2, this year’s smart device is showcased in two styles, the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier and Samsung Gear S3 Classic. Frontier is designed to be a sport focused watch as well as a leisure wearable, perfect for the working class who enjoys seeking thrill in the great wilderness of nature.
Aimed at the trend-loving crowd who value function and practicality, the Classic style pays homage to the minimalist design found in most iconic timepieces, featuring a cleaner look. The new Gear S3 is also compatible with any standard 22mm wrist band, meaning that users can customise the device without having to stick to just what Samsung has to offer.
The new Gear S3 is able to display weather updates, schedule reminders and monitor heart rate. Thanks to the newly improved Always On Display function that uses low energy setting, the device will always appear ‘on’ with more vibrant colour and detail, so checking the time will always be fun.
Made of stainless steel 316L, the device looks sophisticated, sturdy and reliable. Both watches run on a dual-core 1GHz processor, with 768MB of RAM and they each have 4GB of internal memory. The screens are covered in Corning Gorilla Glass SR+, a new glass solution that raises the bar for protection against drops higher than ever.
