The NASDAQ billboard, located in the iconic heart of New York City, is one of the most expensive ad estates in Times Square. Billboard adds in this area can go up to a whopping USD4,000,000 a year.
Yuna has established quite the reputation in the US music scene where she had collaborated with big names such as Pharrell Williams and Usher since her move to Los Angeles 7 years ago.
Yuna also explained that the ad is part of a monthly campaign in which some artists are featured to promote their music. “Alhamdullilah, I believe this is my rezeki after the release of my album ‘Chapters’ last May. I’ve been working hard in the US for five years now and so to see my face up on the NASDAQ billboard makes it all worthwhile,” she said.
NASDAQ is a stock exchange company in America. The billboard had also previously featured artistes such as The Chainsmokers. “Every month, the billboard will feature artistes to promote their music, so this month it’s my turn,” she added.
Yuna’s album, Chapters, broke into the Top 10 of Billboard’s R&B chart earlier this year alongside Beyonce.
