Remember those days when we had a massive crush on the Puerto Rican-Spanish pop sensation, Ricky Martin, when radios couldn’t stop blasting Livin’ Da Vida Loca, only to find out he actually prefers to be romantically involved with his own gender! Oh them feels.. (I swear, my gay-dar is not just broken, pretty sure it has never even worked at all).
Anyway, congratulations to the star on his engagement! On Ellen Degeneres‘ infamous talk show last night, Ricky Martin has casually revealed that he will be getting hitched with his boyfriend of over a year, Jwan Yosef who is a conceptual artist. As an art lover and collector, Ricky met his now-fiancé when he was doing some art shopping but saw interest in the creator instead.
So who popped the question?
The excited star gave Ellen DeGeneres a play-by-play, telling her and the audience that it wasn’t exactly smooth. He got on one knees, had the ring in a little velvet pouch but instead of saying “will you marry me?” he said “I got you something!” And Jwan was like “okay, what is it?” in which Ricky replied “I want to spend my life with you”. At this point, Jwan kinda got it and was like, “What is the question?,” “Would you marry me?” And it’s a done deal.
Indeed, they make such a handsome pair together. Looks like we have a new favourite Hollywood couple inspire our #RelationshipGoals!
